mobile office and storage container rentals. He originally started up this business to eliminate the cost of renting dumpsters for his main business which was OAKK Construction. In 2016, after graduating from the University of Iowa with a BS in Business: Values & Ethics, I began to run Dropbox. In September 2017, I purchased the business off my father and eventually changed the name of the business to Got Dumped Inc. While running Got Dumped, I attended Roosevelt University and in 2019, I received my master’s degree in real estate and construction management. My focus was expanding the business by offering my services to other businesses, as well as homeowners. As I began to gain more knowledge in the construction industry, I started applying for different certifications that would give me more opportunities to expand the business. I currently hold several certifications which I will list at the end. Throughout the years of working with my father, I knew I would eventually want to become a general contractor like he was. In May 2022, I applied for my general contractor’s license with the City of Chicago and became certified shortly after. It wasn’t until November of that year that I began venturing down the construction path and completed my first job with NHS (Neighborhood Housing Services) through their Home Repair Program.  Around March 2023, once the weather started to get warmer, I focused more on bidding on construction jobs with different agencies in Illinois and hired someone to handle the dumpster aspect of the business. In April 2023, I began to receive several Home Repair Program Jobs through NHS. Around the same time, I applied for a general contracting pool bid through Chicago Housing Association (CHA) which I was accepted in to in September 2023. Another agency that I applied to work with was the Community and Economic Development Association (CEDA) which I was accepted into in July 2023. In 2024, I will acquire majority of the employees that have worked for my father’s business for years, so he is able to retire and allow me to continue to expand my business.
